I have today booked my visa interview appointment at Mumbai consulate.My hometown is Indore (Madhya Pradesh) and on the visa appointment letter the "State of Residence" says "Maharashtra". I am confused whether I made any mistake or the "state of Residence" says maharashtra based on consulate's state?
Please help me getting answer to this puzzle.

Minimum requirement for Sr. Software Engineer can be MS + 2 years experience.
If Sr. Software Engineer is not your current designation then go with SE instead of SSE.

I havn't gotten mine yet. Filed on Sept 11th at VSC. Check seems to have cleared though -according to the Attorney. However I guess the delay in my case is the exception rather than the rule.

When you file for a transfer to company C, the USCIS will see if the H-1 with company B was approvable or not before they agree to approve the H-1 with C. You have essentially created a bridge by filing the H-1 with company B. The USCIS has said that they would allow bridge petitions, however in order not to complicate things, i would convert company B H-1 to PP get the approval work for 1 month, get a paystub and then file a transfer.

Can anyone tell me how serious this is?
We filled out all paperwork and forwarded to the lawyers 3 weeks ago, who filed it for us.
As I'm writing out a proxy for my dad to vote in my homecountry in upcoming elections, I somehow realize I wrongly entered his birthday on the G-325A, I put down June 6th, rather then June 8th. (got confused mixing it up with my husband's birthday)
Totally stupid :o, I know, I know. I'm so worried over this now, I can't sleep anymore, I can't eat anymore :(.
Of course I have already filled out a corrected G-325A & forwarded it to the lawyers handling our applications, but what could the consequences be? I'm so worried!
This was just a mistake made in a moment of not paying attention. :( :(
Do not worry, nothing will happen. Typo happens. One of my friends entered his wife's birth day as his Birthday. We sent correction letter mentioning what happened. USCIS acknowledge the changes in a response and he got his green card. This was in early 2009.

Dallas-Fort Worth Immigration Lawyer Has Just Posted the Following:
For the second time, a federal judge has declared a Farmers Branch ordinance banning illegal immigrants from renting in the city to be unconstitutional. Here are excerpts from a Dallas Morning News (http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/news/localnews/stories/DN-FBsuit_25met.ART.Central.Edition1.4c77c2c.html) article reporting this decision:
U.S. District Judge Jane Boyle of Dallas ruled Wednesday that the ordinance was an attempt to enforce U.S. immigration laws – something the judge said only the federal government can do.
The judge also issued a permanent injunction to stop Farmers Branch from enforcing Ordinance 2952.
Mayor Tim O'Hare, the driving force behind the ordinances, said he wants to appeal.
"The American people are tired of judges legislating from the bench," he said. "This decision is not unexpected but welcomed, because it allows us to get closer to this ordinance becoming reality."
But O'Hare said the City Council would have to vote on whether to continue a fight that has cost the city nearly $3.2 million since September 2006. And the city may need to spend an additional $623,000 in legal fees in the year ahead, city finance director Charles Cox said Wednesday.
About one-quarter of the estimated 30,000 people who live in Farmers Branch were born outside the United States. About 47 percent of the city's population is Hispanic.
In the past four years, the city has proposed a series of ordinances that would make it illegal for landlords to rent to illegal immigrants. A version approved by the council in 2006 was repealed in early 2007 to make way for another ordinance.
That ordinance, No. 2903, was approved by two-thirds of voters in 2007 but later declared unconstitutional by U.S. District Judge Sam Lindsay. The city abandoned an appeal of that ordinance in favor of Ordinance 2952. No. 2952 added all rental units, including houses, to the ban on renting to illegal immigrants.

well queen my long lost thought you were gone forever to never come back friend. I am not to familiar with the nikon lenses i would imaging the logical side would be to cover as many focal lengths as possible and that would be covered by the 18-55 and the 55-200mm lenses. however im not sure if the 18-135 lens offers supperior glass or not. If it does i would say that would be the one you go with. anyway it sure is nice to see you on here queen i must say i missed ya.

I found that the "Govt error appeal cases" are processed as current, standard appeal have a backlog of aug 2007. My employer said mine wouldn't fall under any of these two conditions. He is confident that the CO just will certify anytime soon. Is this the case ?

I believe she can continue to work if she files H1 extension and has a receipt notice. But if you are pursueing the EAD angle you will need an EAD card in hand physically to go that route. In a way its good that your employer is supporting the EAD efforts but that also takes longer because of documents and information exchanges with the attorney etc. Hope this helps

Recently an undated USCIS draft memorandum surfaced. The Memo was offering administrative relief options to promote family unity, foster economic growth, achieve significant process improvements, and reduce the threat of removal for certain individuals present in the United States without authorization. Internal memoranda help us do the thinking that leads to important changes; some of them are adopted and others are rejected. Our goal is to implement policies wisely and well to strengthen all aspects of our mission. The choices we have made so far have strengthened both the enforcement and services sides of USCIS � nobody should mistake deliberation and exchange of ideas for final decisions. To be clear, DHS will not grant deferred action or humanitarian parole to the nation�s entire illegal immigrant population.�

my friends travelled on AP for about 2 months and they entered without any problem and their employment based AOS is pending in NSC. nt sure abt your case, check about your situation with USCIS or with your attroney, may be your case is different.

I am on F1 visa. I enrolled in one of the university. I don't attend university in person. I do attend classes online from another state. My question is that I am resident of which state ?? Will I be automatically resident of state where exactly my university is ? I know it is mandatory to attend classes in person on F1. Can you please advise ? How is residency considered ?

If you are on F1, you need to be attending courses in-person - so e-learning/ distance learning is a voilation per-se of F1.
Now, if you were attending the courses in-person, you can be residing anywhere (particularly in cities close to state borders), and your residency will be the address where you are staying, not the university you are enrolled in. There is nothing in the rules to be a resident of the same state as your Univ is.

I guess any kind of lead activity involves some kind of co-ordination/planning anyways of subordinate SE's.

Unless otherwise you invoke her H1, she will be in H4 even if H1 is approved today. Invoking means, going to home country and getting it stamped or start working for a company and getting paid via paystub and having SSN

If your university is outside of USA, then how about you get a Foreign Credential Evaluation done..This will clearly state, if your educational qualifications are considered equivalent to a Masters in the USA..This will enable you to file your application with confidence...Talk to your lawyer.
