How about a monthly membership of 5-10 dollars - that will be a recurring earning for IV, and as membership base grows, this can be the sustaining force.
Remember even if Specter or Frist bill passes with some of our amendments, there are still are ton of issues to deal with e.g.,

"I called up an IO at NSC and they said they are swamped with the news of the 180 day NC requirement. She did confirm that this was true and that cases were being moved into different areas in order to get assigned to Officers. Mine being one of them."
So the USCIS finally knows about it :)
On the other note, those 88 cents I spent to download that document from the court site are my best investment since I've bought a house. Anybody needs green points? :)

What is interesting is that both Zest2003 and Zenfloater on are EB-3 India with priority dates in Summer 2003. So neither of them has a current PD.
I had three separate conversations in the last few weeks -- with a TSC IO, with staff in Michael Aytes office and with staff in the Ombudsmans Office, all of whom confirmed that cases are not assigned to adjudicators if their priority dates are not current i.e. no preadjudication of retrogressed cases.
I made strong arguments to both staffers about how unjust this is since if dates move, retrogressed cases won't be good to go, and unused visas go to less retrogressed or unretrogressed categories.
Now these two posters on seem to suggest that retrogressed cases are being given to adjudicators....it would be great if other retrogressed applicants posted about what they are hearing.

History channel premiered a program "Naturalized" yesterday (12/18). They covered people from so man y different walks of life facing so many different problems to get GC and citizenship. But in the 90 minute program there was no coverage on how our community is struggling and no mention about the plight of the employment based category.
Makes me wonder if there is enough awareness about our cause.

to be fair to USCIS they did try to get out of the fiasco on july 1 by moving the dates back again Eventually they were forced to accept it again..
They clearly knew this was cash cow so why did they want to cancel it in the first place..
Its a lot of money and its definitely a lot of work as well..There are also no signs of hiring new stafff..most of extra cash they getting is being pumped into other gov projects so the staff is still being overworked and I am sure will be complaning

I belong to Virginia. But Virginia office does not have the dates available for next 2 months. Can I visit to the neighbouring Maryland state USCIS local office for Information. Is it legal and valid to go to Other local office for information?

Last time we renewed we lost more than a month since they did it from approval date. Also they gave it so fast and only for 1year - we missed the 2yr valid EAD by days. In comparison they issued the AP quite late taking their sweet time

I have applied for EAD for the second time for my self and my wife (received the receipts only - renewal)
No FP till now. Opened two SR, it is of no use.
Called twice, first time IO was not that help full. Second time atleast he wanted to do some help.
No other go, so called my attorney for help. He has put a letter along with all the receipts explaining that no FP for my client. He has also send the same documentation and advised me to take an infopass, which I took. And it is in Dallas TX (early morning 8 AM)
So, please suggest if you have experience with infopass in Dallas TX
1. When to be there
2. What documentation to carry
3. How about parking
4. Any questions (so that I can compile and ask)

Be adviced, even though they are ready to file your GC in EB2, they frequently lay off people in which case they might not be able to file your GC on the commited day. Big companies go by book. Generally when company lays off, it can not file new labor within 180 days of the effectice lay off. Of course it depends on what kind of people they are laying off and if the title matches your position and what not. But this happened to me. I work for another big company (not oracle) and mine was delayed six months due to this reason. I do not want to scare you but just want to educate you. Think about all these scenarios before making any decision. Good Luck.

In real practice, they leave a note in PO Box. After reading note, that something is for you, you need to stand in Q, sign it and receive it.
I think, USCIS is also undergoing same thing. Post Office must be putting notes in boxes. Due to high volume, signing part must be getting delayed.
Accordingly Post Office must be putting on-line status as attemped to deliver.
I never ask for Signature Confirmation on PO Box. Delivery Confirmation is enough.

As far as I know, your only options to get GC are:
-- DREAM ACT (which is not something you can control)
-- Marry a US Citizen (which obviously is something you can consider)
In the meantime, whatever you do, do not go out of the country.

I think, you should check with an Immigration Attorney before you risk your wife�s multiple entry Visitor Visa.
My take:
AFAIK, staying beyond the I-94 expiration date will abandon her Visitor Visa, and she could be denied entry next time.
In your wife�s case, you have applied for a change-of-status, however a decision has not yet been made, so she should leave the country before the I-94 expiration date and come back later after the F1 is approved. But, leaving the country while the change-of-status application is pending might cancel the change-of-status application, and not the underlying F1 application. So, your wife may have to get a F1 visa stamping abroad to come back later.
The above said information is purely based on my knowledge and may vary from an Attorney�s view.

Your profile says you are EB3. I hope it was put by you not by USCIS.
May be your I-140 was also for EB3, a misclassification by you. Do you remember?

I agree but this statement "previous editions of the I-485 form accepted" sounds like a generic one because today's FAQ clearly relates to "EB I-485" and the word "Should", not "may or can"... thats what puzzling me...

HI, I am new to this forum, so pardon me if my question is an old one. Please direct me to the correct thread in that case.
I am currently working on my EAD for past years since July fiasco. I have over 12 years of experience. My employer who originally filed for my GC, had filed it for EB3 since then I did not meet the requirements for EB2. (I do not have a master's degree)
I have 12+ years of experience now and am working for a big pharma company on my EAD since. I filed for AC21 and left my original employer three years back and since then I have been working for the same company as a senior technical Lead.
I do not have a valid H1-B any longer. Is it possible for me to do EB3 to EB2 porting. What are the requirements and would I need my current company to file for me, or can I do it on my own through lawyer?
